​Writing

Students will be given many opportunities throughout the year to practice different forms of writing, including:  creative, expository, descriptive, persuasive, and narrative.  Some of this writing will be done along with their stories.  They will also be given many opportunities to write in their journals they have created.  Journal writing is not graded, but comments will be made in them throughout the year.  It is important to reinforce with your child the importance of correct capitalization, punctuation, and grammar when reviewing their work at home with them.
